Keith was a tailgunner on a Lancaster Bomber towards the end of World War Two. He went to England in April 1944, and for a year he smoked a lot, got in some fights, met some interesting men and women, and waited. This blog is based on the letters he wrote to his mother in 1944-45.

Keith's mom told me that he turned down a place at Queen's University to join the Air Force. Here is what Keith wanted to do after the war.
August 4 1944 - Letter from Keith to his mother
'I wish this war would hurry up and get finished as I could get back to school, that sounds funny coming from me but I have made up my mind that I want to be an aeronautical engineer if I have enough grey matter to get through such a course. As soon as I get on opps I can take a course there, that will give me a start. '
